About
Our Mission
Broncs of Blue Sky is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is dedicated to keeping former rodeo horses out of the slaughter pipeline. These horses are given time and space to decompress, and receive the training they need to be adopted out to good homes. We are a woman veteran led organization, and are passionate about our fellow veterans. Part of our mission is to provide equine therapy to military veterans in need, and to integrate the rehabilitation of the broncs into that therapy, so that the two populations can find healing together.
Rescue
Our original former saddle bronc, Johnny Ringo, came to us from a kill pen in Colorado. He was hours away from being shipped to slaughter. His experience inspired us to create this rescue.
Advocacy
We believe in speaking up for those who have no voice of their own, or who need our support, animal or human.
Equine Therapy
Two of our founding four are USAF veterans, and are passionate about helping other military veterans who have experienced service related trauma. Horses have proven time and time again what amazing therapists they can be,
